Don't get me wrong, I love Rumi's style on Fashiontoast, and the sloppy edge that has invaded Calfornia cool. However, we can only hope to imitate a trend that was meant to be original. The photographs are from Grunge written by Thurston Moore (of Sonic Youth) and photographed by Michael Lavine.
I believe it can. Art critics dismiss fashion photography for its commercial appeal and familiarity. Yet, photography as a medium has been exhausted. Fashion photography focuses on the fundamentals of light and framing. Plus, it's nice to look at. Some of my favorites are Irving Penn, Steven Meisel, Herb Ritts, Annie Leibovitz, and Ryan McGinley.
Miroslava Duma has an incredible and mature style that reflects her youth and influence. She is a well known editor from Moscow who started working at Harper's Bazaar Russia, and now she contributes to L'Officiel Russia, Glamour Russia, the style section at Russian OK Magazine, and Tatler Magazine Russia.
